Our major sales resource is ideas. The industry's traditional billing unit has been time. This is why we bill on an hourly basis at standard rates. This firm does not do "value" billing. Value billing means estimate the value to the client of a project and charge the greater of the time expended or monetary value to the client. The current hourly billing rates are as follows: Richard Caldwell $160.00 Other CPAs $150.00 Paraprofessionals $80.00 Secretarial $55.00 Out of pocket charges such as delivery services fees are paid by us and billed to the client. The only computer charges are to purchase the annual fiduciary, corporate, partnership and individual tax return programs and related equipment that is currently sixty dollars. Although most of our reports are prepared and billed on an actual time basis, we will quote monthly bookkeeping or compilations without footnotes on a flat fee basis. The current cost quotation is three hundred dollars for the first one hundred transactions and one dollar per additional transaction or check using only one bank account. Our computer programs prepare many payroll reports for our clients, and thus the fees are primarily review and report assembly time. A monthly or quarterly statement review meeting is strongly recommended to help your business grow. This time is billed separately from our monthly report effort. Since all employees prepare a daily time sheet processed semimonthly, our bills are issued semimonthly. Thus, you could receive a bill without the completed return or report. Other than scheduling, status, estimated fees or brief (under five minutes) phone conversations, which do not require research or written response, a bill is usually presented for time expended as services were rendered. We expect the bill to be paid as you receive it and before the finished report or return is released. We hope these paragraphs help you understand our fee approach.
